More than a quarter-century after that clinic first opened, SecondStreet.org decided to investigate what options Canadian patients now have when it comes to paying for private MRI scans.

This is largely due to price-and-supply controls on those products, known as “supply management.” This form of protectionism and price manipulation is enabled by federal and provincial legislation. This study examines the on-the-ground effect on consumers in one easy-to-measure consumer item: milk.
