STORY: Manitoba Woman Dies Waiting for Surgery, Family Speaks Out
SecondStreet.org sat down with Daniel Fewster. His mother, Debbie, died while waiting for life-saving heart surgery.
She was supposed to get the procedure within three weeks. After waiting two months, she died.
Debbie’s story inspired her family and SecondStreet.org to propose Debbie’s Law ‒ a policy that, if adopted by governments, would require them to tell patients if the system won’t be able to get them life-saving care in time.
