THE MARC PATRONE SHOW: At Least 2.9 Million Canadians Waiting for Surgery, Scan, Specialist
SecondStreet.org spoke with Marc Patrone to discuss our new data that shows at least 2.9 million Canadians are on medical waitlists.
We sent Freedom of Information requests to every provincial and territorial government, asking how many people were on waitlists for surgery, diagnostic scans, and to see a specialist.
Those confirmed at least 2.9 million people on waitlists. However, many provinces provided incomplete data. Using the data we had, we made a cautious calculation that the true number is around 3.7 million Canadians on waiting lists.
