Imagine having to wait 7 years before your family could get a car.
Or perhaps the government destroyed old cookbooks in your town because people might ask about all the ingredients mentioned in them that are no longer available.
These are a couple of the stories Boris Rassin shared with us when we sat down with him to talk about growing up in the former USSR. The interview was part of our Survivors of Socialism series and Boris also shared his thoughts on policies that concern him today in Canada.
