POLICY BRIEF: High Demand for Private Health Insurance in Canada

A new report from SecondStreet.org examines a potential private health care insurance market in Canada.
If Canada were to follow the lead of European countries like Sweden, France, and Denmark in allowing private insurance, we could create a $21 billion private insurance market, potentially creating 39,000 jobs. Polling from Leger included in the report shows that nearly half of Canadians are interested in learning more about or perhaps purchasing comprehensive private health insurance.
