STORY: B.C. Man Offered Life in a Wheelchair Instead of Surgery
SecondStreet.org sat down with Regan Johnson, a B.C. man who suffered from serious, chronic back pain.
It got so bad that doctors said he’d likely be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. But instead of offering him surgery to fix the problem, they prescribed him a mountain of painkillers.
So, as is too common these days, he took his care into his own hands. He travelled to Germany for spinal surgery, and is now doing much better.
