MARC PATRONE: Nearly 2,000 Ontario Nurses Working in Michigan

SecondStreet.org president Colin Craig joined Marc Patrone to discuss our new report on Ontario nurses working in Michigan.

We surveyed Ontario nurses with an active license to practice in Michigan. Through that, we discovered that nearly 2,000 were actively crossing the border for work.

It’s not just the money. Availability of work and working conditions were both major reasons nurses chose to work in the U.S. If the Canadian system can attract those nurses to stay at home, it could help fix the nursing shortage.

Craig and Patrone also discuss the federal government union strike, the upcoming Alberta election, and more.

Patrone’s show can be heard on Sauga 960 in Mississauga.
