New SecondStreet.org research examines transparency around waitlists for life-saving surgery.
Inspired by our previous recommendation of Debbie’s Law, SecondStreet.org filed Freedom of Information requests with each province to see what requirements they had (if any) to inform patients if they wouldn’t receive life-saving surgery on time.
The results were disappointing, with only two provinces having any (and still quite minimal) policies on transparency around life-saving surgery waitlists.
