POLICY BRIEF: Incentives Could Improve Patient Health

Canada’s health care system faces a large strain from health conditions that can come as a result of unhealthy life choices.

But what if there was an effort to encourage Canadians to live more healthy lifestyles?

SecondStreet.org’s new report examines a number of different ways the private sector and governments outside of Canada have used financial incentives to help people live healthier lives.

If Canadian provinces tried pilot versions of some of these initiatives, they could potentially find a model that helps patients and saves taxpayers money.
