POLICY BRIEF: Defunding Putin’s Military
New SecondStreet.org research shows that Canada could play a significant role in defunding Vladimir Putin’s war machine by developing and exporting our oil and natural gas.
Putin is paying for many of the tanks, guns and bombs he’s using to terrorize the Ukrainian people by selling oil and gas to the rest of the world.
SecondStreet.org’s asked industry experts to see how much Russian energy could be displaced by Canadian oil and natural gas, if our country were to make it a priority.
In the long term, we could displace about half of Russia’s oil and gas.
